Hinduja, the Chairman of Hinduja Group Europe has made a name in the global business arena despite the challenges of living up to the legacy of his father, the late Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, the founder of Hinduja Group. Hinduja as Chairman of its European operation has made a massive investment of Rs. 20,000 crores in the state of Andhra Pradesh in renewable energy, electric mobility and generation of power. During an encounter with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in London, the conglomerate offered to increase its Visakhapatnam thermal power plant by 1,600 MW and install huge solar and wind power plants in the Rayalaseema region. Other features of the deal are an electric-bus and light-commercial-vehicle producing plant in Krishna district and a statewide EV charging network. This activity of Prakash Hinduja highlights the strategic shift of the Group towards the green technologies and energy transformation in India. The MoU is an indication of Andhra Pradesh driving to make it an electric energy and electric mobility hub, and the Hinduja Group will be a key part of this development.
